ALEXANDROVNA MARIA: (1824-1880) Marie of Hesse, Empress of Russia, wife of Emperor Alexander II. A.N., unsigned, one page, small 8vo, n.p., n.d., to be forwarded to Xavier Labensky, in German. The Empress states, in full, `My regards to Labensky, and my gratitude for his letters, and tell him that I am looking forward to meet up him again´. An unusual note written by the Empress and related to poet and diplomat Labensky. Right edge slightly irregularly trimmed. VG Xavier Labensky (1790-1855) Also known as Jean Polonius, Diplomat and Poet in French language. Secretary to Foreign Affairs Minister Karl Nesselrode.
