SOUTINE CHAIM: (1893-1943) French Painter of Lithuanian Jewish origin. Considered a leading figure of the Abstract-Expressionism. A.L., two pages, 8vo, Nice, 4TH May 1932, on the attractive Atlantic Hotel of Nice printed stationery, to Monsieur Lejeune, in French. Soutine, in his untidy writing with multiple spelling mistakes in French, states `My dear Lejeune, Forgive me for not coming to have a cup of coffee at your place. I was in Monte Carlo for some old paintings and it delayed me. I am leaving for Paris tonight. Sorry that I could not stop by. See you soon
