CHERET JULES: (1836-1932) French Painter and a master Lithographer of the Belle Epoque. Widely regarded as the father of the modern poster master. A.L.S., Jules Chéret, one page, 8vo, mourning paper, n.p., 29th March 1890, in French. Chéret thanks his correspondent for his kind words in these mourning times, stating `Merci mon bien cher ami pour votre bonne et consolante lettre. Je suis bien sensible a la marque de sympathie que vous me donniez..´ (''Thank you, my very dear friend, for your good and consoling letter.
