A RUSSIAN PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A SHOEMAKER BY POPOV

Glazed porcelain figurine depicting a seated figure of a man wearing a traditional Russian belted kaftan shirt, and blue trousers, making a bast shoe. Russian Empire, the factory of Alexei Popov, mid-nineteenth century. Marked on the bottom with a maker's mark in blue ink underglaze. The surface is neatly hand-painted. Features a blue underglaze and an impressed manufactory mark on the bottom.
