The Attributes of Hashem
Shaar Hashem Hachadash.
Singular Edition.
Constantinople, 1533
*
Descriptions of the names and titles of Hashem, their essence and meanings by Chacham Rabbi Shlomo Almoli.
Rabbi Shlomo Almoli was born in Portugal, and fled with his parents during the Portuguese expulsion; ultimately they settled in Constantinople, Turkey.
Other sefarim authored by Chacham Rabbi Shlomo Almoli include Mefasher Chalmin (Salonika, 1515); Me’asef Lechol Hamachanos (Constantinople, circa 1530) and others. Rabbi Shlomo Almoli also engaged in printing sefarim and facilitated many authors in their efforts to bring their sefarim to print. The
the present sefer is actually a part of the author’s magnum opus Shomer Emunim, which was never brought to print.
Shaar Hashem Hachadash was printed by the famous Jewish printer Gershom Soncino (d. 1534). The top of the title page lists the printer’s surname “Soncine” which is also noted in a poem on the title page verso.
