WW2 - Propaganda Leaflet 1943

An Original WW2 Die Italiener Haben Kein Herz fur Diesen Krieg Ref G.15 1943. A great leaflet that translates as: THE ITALIANS’ HEART IS NOT IN THIS WAR [A picture of Italians surrendering to English soldiers] Over 300,000 have already surrendered to the English and Americans. [A picture of a close-up of two Italian prisoners roaring with laughter] They are the happiest prisoners one has ever seen either in England or America. …And are they so wrong? For them the war is over – a war which they have never been any too keen on – and one day they will return to their wives and children. (PAGES 2 & 3) THE ITALIANS ARE REAL POLITIKER Mussolini declares "We stand by Germany to the bitter end". All the same Mussolini has recently sent his son-in-law Count Galeazzo Ciano as Italian Ambassador to the Pope. The Vatican State of which the Pope is the head is neutral. The Pope has always proclaimed the his highest political wish is "Peace on earth". [On the left a picture of Mussolini, on the right a picture of Ciano] A delegation of captured Italian generals led by General Bergonzoli was recently received by the Lord Mayor of New York, Fiorello La Guardia. [A picture of Bergonzoli and a picture of La Guardia] Lord Mayor La Guardia comes of Italian stock and is as one knows not very pro-German. In America Italians are no longer legally regarded as enemy aliens. [Picture of King Victor Emanuel III] Italy still has the same king as in 1915. (PAGE 4) SOUTHERN FRONT – TO THE LAST ITALIAN! [Map showing the disposition of Italian troops along the Southern Front] They are not only defending Italy but are also entrusted with the defence of Yugoslavia, Greece, large parts of the South of France, Corsica, and Sardinia, all in all more than 3,000 kilometres of front line. Without the Italians the German Army would have to defend this 3,000 kilometres long Southern frontline – quite apart from the Eastern and the West Front. "Our two revolutions, the Fascist and the National Socialist, march shoulder to shoulder in an inseparable community of faith. They stand or fall together". As far as Fascism is concerned the falling has already begun. In the last five months the membership of the Italian Fascist Party sank by 45%. (Officially announced by Vidussoni, Secretary of the Fascist Party, on the 12th March 1943).
