VOENKOMAT SOVIET DEFENSE OF STALINGRAD MEDAL & AWARD
Soviet campaign medal 'For the Defence of Stalingrad'. The red stripe on the ribbon indicates the award is for a soldier of the Red Army. Shown on the obverse is a row of five fully equipped soldiers with their rifles at the ready marching to the left, and above the Soviet flag, tanks, and combat aircraft. Engraved on the reverse 'FOR THE DEFENSE OF STALINGRAD.' 1.25 inches. Secured by a ring through the metal suspension loop to a Soviet pentagonal mount, covered by a green and red ribbon. Accompanied by an original award document, 8.25 x 5.75 inches.
