«This chivalry novella was written by the author when he was just over twenty years old, with the aim of exercising his ingenuity for more serious arguments. Fiction is well known for its being translated from the Ungara language, with not the slightest doubt remaining that it was originally composed in Portuguese.» (Inoc., III, 320). The very rare first edition of this work was published in Coimbra, João Barreira, 1520. Esteemed and rare.
