AZ ELEMI ISKOLA IV OSZTALYA 1933-34, photograph of the jewish children in the elementary school. Class D. Budapest 1933-4.
The photo shows the children of Budapest's ultra-Orthodox Jewish school and the educating rabbis. Seated in the front row are holding a sign detailing the age of the classroom, place, and year.
In the major Orthodox communities in Hungary, such as Budapest, Debrecen, Miskolc, there were Jewish official elementary schools. The children learned, in some localities in "rooms" and Budapest there was also a "Birger-Shuhle" and a kind of small yeshiva called "Torat Emet", both of which are 8 sects.
Size: 17x11 cm. Attached to the photographer's cardboard substrate with the photographer's stamp on the back and an original sticker: 25x17 cm.
