Sous la terreur brune - Early publication about Hitler's terrorism in Germany. Paris, 1933 - First Edition.
Sous la terreur brune - Under the Brown Terrorism, by Madeleine Migeon. Published by MOORTHAMES Freres, Paris 1933 - First Edition. From the early publications exposing the horrors of the Nazi regime at the time they occurred. rare.
The story of a woman who came to Germany as part of a trip in 1933, and to her astonishment encountered Hitler's terror and anti-Semitism that broke out everywhere. The author describes the character of the German people and their rude behavior towards the Jews. In those days, many letters were sent to Jews asking them to come to the police stations for an "investigation." The author describes how everywhere you go in Germany you find letters in the mailboxes calling on Jews to come and investigate. At that point she understands that the future of the Jews in Germany is going to be difficult, and describes this phenomenon in detail. The author was present on several occasions when Hitler spoke in public and described the status - the ecstasy that gripped the audience during the speech, the outbursts of hatred that emanated from his every sentence, and the willingness of the hearing audience to harm Jews wherever they were under Hitler's wild incitement. She also points to contradictions in the character of the German people - extreme strictness on personal hygiene on the one hand and hatred of the other on the other hand, their love for dogs and pets, and their hatred to anyone who is not Aryan, etc. The author goes on to describe the antisemitic phenomena she saw in Cologne in particular.
