A series of forged English stamps with a Star of David - Operation "Water Waves" in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp
Seven forged English stamps in the form of George VI in various denominations, the forgery work was done by Jews in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp - as part of 'Operating water waves' to create hatred against the Jews among the British Kingdom. The crown cross on George's head was replaced to a Star of David to order that the Jews rule the world. In two stamps George VI's wife was replaced by Stalin.
Similar to the famous banknotes that were forged in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp ['Operation Bernhard' to undermine the British economy], stamps were also forged. In 1943, Jewish prisoners in Blocks 18/19 were forced to forge British stamps ordered by Himmler in an operation called "Water Waves" in which about nine million stamps were forged. The purpose of the forgery was mainly propaganda: "In this way we are sowing hatred in England against Jews and Russians", said one of the SS men involved in the forgery. The counterfeit stamps resembled British stamps with identical values but the caption and design changed trending. The cross that appears at the head of the royal crown was replaced with a Star of David, while the inscription "The Jubilee of Money" was replaced with "This is a Jewish war." Similarly, a British stamp issued in 1937 in honor of George VI was crowned with a fake version in which the Queen Mother (George VI's wife) was replaced by Stalin and the coronation date of May 12, 1937 was changed to November 28, 1942 when the Tehran Conference convened. The quality of the forged stamps was poor due to the use of coarse and thick paper that was originally used to print German stamps for food rations. At the same time, the postage stamps stamped on the stamps were forged and included antisemitic inscriptions such as "World Judaism", Star of David signs or inscriptions intended to sow public demoralization such as England Has Lost the War and more. The counterfeit stamps were distributed in the UK, France, Switzerland, Turkey and Sweden.
