Check of Hebron Development Bank Ltd.
Check of the Hebron Development Bank Ltd., Hebron Jerusalem, for a total of 58 Israeli pounds. 1920s. Very rare.
"The Hebron Development Bank" was founded in Jerusalem in 1925 by Rabbi Israel Zisel Deborz (1885-1968, editor of the Torah journal 'Tavuna'), to assist the Knesset of Israel Yeshiva in Hebron. Rabbi Deborz was the right hand of Rabbi Natan Zvi Finkel, the grandfather from Slobodka, and helped him greatly in developing his yeshiva at various times both abroad and in moving the yeshiva to Eretz Israel to the city of Hebron. Following the 1929 riots, the bank changed its name to "Hebron Bank".
