Vintage c1950 American Eagle Kit Quilt by Paragon, in gold, measures 78 by 94 inches. Large eagle centered on the quilt with two roses in each claw and a branch in his beak; thirteen stars arranged in a semi-circle above the eagle and partial stars in groups of three to the left, right, and bottom of the eagle; scroll and leaf motif at bottom corners and the pillow center; basket of flowers above each of the bottom corner motifs, and to the left and right of the pillow motif; swag border with partial stars at each peak. It is hand applied and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and a solid gold cotton reverse. The edge is finished with the back brought to the front and applied by hand. It is in good condition one small split/worn area, very small. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
