Antique c1900 Trip Around the World Quilt - Bars Back
Antique c1900 Trip Around the World Quilt with Bars or Strippy Back reverse. It measures 76 x 79 inches. It is comprised of 2.5 inch squares set on point, in a center field 61x 65 inches. With a 7.5 inch chrome yellow print border. The trip around the world pattern is created with fabric and color placement. It is machine pieced and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and the bars on the back have many of the same fabrics that are on the front: blue, pink, and yellow. The edge is finished with the front brought to the back and applied by hand it is in good condition with several dark spots and some storage line fading to the reverse. This quilt is part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
