Shabbat lamp made of silver. Iraq or Afghanistan, early 20th century.
A Shabbat lamp, designed as a tray with a tall pole for holding, decorated with plant models and the Star of David at its upper end, with an engraved inscription "Nir Shabbat". The oil bowls, with pinched edges, are placed at the ends of a pair of columns. Two removable bases, sawn in the shape of a Star of David, with space for wicks in the center, are placed inside the oil bowls.
