A desk desk made of olive wood – Eretz Israel, 19th century – a handsome desk desk, made of olive wood, decorated with green and red flowers and vegetation. The body of the desk consists of two parts: a writing box and a pencil case. The pencil case, which is intended to store writing needs - ink tank, pencil, etc., is divided into compartments, and includes a locking mechanism (the key is missing). Flower decorations were carved on the pencil cover. Around the decorations is a frame created by inlaying tiny pieces of wood in different colors. The writing box has a sloping lid that opens with two hinges to a writing surface. The inside of the writing surface rises, revealing storage space for paperwork. On the back side of the storage space there is a removable wooden plate, behind which are hidden two small drawers, also removable. In the center of the writing box lid are carved decorations and Hebrew and English writing. Dimensions: length 36 cm, width 29 cm, height 12.5 cm. Source: Private collection.
