Carpet made by "Bezalel" / "Marbadia" – Adam and Eve – Jerusalem, 1920's A rug decorated with the figures of Adam, Eve and the serpent next to the Tree of Knowledge, made by the "Marbadia" workshop by Bezalel. Jerusalem, [1920s].Wool on cotton foundation.The carpet depicts Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, among them is the Tree of Knowledge and on it is bound the serpent looking down. The two kneel on opposite sides of the tree; Behind Eve, who extends her hand with fruit in Adam's direction, lies a deer, and behind Adam lies a lion. At the bottom of the frame is the inscription "Adam and Eve" and below it is another inscription, "Marbadiya Jerusalem".61x 46 cm. Good condition. Minor flaws. Few fixes
