Joseph Knibb London Inlaid Grandmother Clock
Late 17th/early 18th, top was restored around the early 1900s. This grandmother clock made by Joseph Knibb is a beautiful piece made around the late 17th century, and refinished around the late 19th century. Joseph Knibb was arguably the best horologist of his day, and made many of his timepieces in england including this one. This is evidenced by the brass plaque reading "Joseph Knibb, Londini Fecit" on the inside of the hood (pictured). Clock has a flat bonnet, with barley twist columns and a heavily inlaid face. All of this is atop a heavily inlaid case with stars and other symbols adorning the front, and a flat bottom. The clock measures approx. 5' high, and depicts small faces on each corner of the clock face. Key is present, and clock is in working order. Condition is as seen in photography.
