An excerpt from Bikurei Aviv, from the weekly Torah portion Ki Tavo, on the greater importance of the person who answers Amen than the person who makes a blessing, including mention of joyous events such as a wedding, and salvations.

Segula for protection. The holy handwriting of the “Saba Kadisha” of Radzymin, one of the senior and most respected admorim, was known for its protective properties [as related by the admor, the Imrei Emet of Gur and his son, the Lev Simcha].

Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh of Radzymin was among the great tzaddikim of Poland. He was a disciple of the Seer of Lublin, the Maggid of Kuzhnitz and the holy Rabbi Simcha Bunim of Przysucha. After the death of the holy rabbi of Varka, Rabbi Yaakov accepted the title of admor and thousands gathered around him. He worked great wonders and his became renowned throughout Poland. His Torah thoughts were compiled in his book, Bikurei Aviv.
