ANTIQUE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX JESUS ICON IN SILVER RIZA
An antique Russian Orthodox icon of Christ Pantocrator, the Lord Almighty, or Savior Jesus Christ. Hand painted in egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon features an embossed 84 gilt Silver riza or oklad, engraved traditional detailed patterns, and embossed elements. Hallmarked with an 84 Imperial Russian standard, a makers mark, 1870, and other marks. Circa the late 19th century. Antique Russian Silver Religious Items and Collectibles.
