1972 MUNICH OLYMPICS POSTER AFTER SERGE POLIAKOFF
Color offset lithograph on paper, after the original gouche painting titled Rouge et Noire by Serge Poliakoff, 1900 to 1969, a Russian-born French modernist painter. The artwork is an abstract geometrical composition in red, blue, and black. Inscription Olympische Spielen Munchen 1972 with logo and facsimile signature of the artist is in the bottom middle. White mat, black frame. On the occasion of the 1972 Summer Olympic Games, Edition Olympia GmbH in cooperation with the Bruckmann KG Munchen produced a series of 29 posters by renowned artists. This lot belongs to the third edition of the series.
