ANCIENT ROMAN EMPIRE TETRADRACHM SILVER COIN
An ancient silver tetradharm coin, Roman Empire, province of Syria, reign of Philip II, 247 to 249. On the obverse there is a draped bust of the emperor in a laurel wreath, turned to the right. On the reverse of the coin there is an eagle standing full face on the ground with its wings open to the sides, its head turned to the right, and a wreath in its beak. Below it is written ANTIOXIA SC. The coin was minted in Antioch on the Orontes in 244 to 249. Historical Collectibles, Coins And Numismatics. Total weight: 12.3 g.
