RUSSIAN SOVIET NONCONFORMIST ETCHING BY ZABELIN
A vintage etching on paper artwork attributed to Viatcheslav Zabelin - VIK, who was a founder of an artistic group Alipy in Leningrad in 1976. The artists of the Alipy art group were a new generation of nonconformists. The Alipy group had its own unique artistic style, which reflected a passion for medieval religious art, modern style and Chinese calligraphy. The etching is highly detailed and infused with religious symbolism. Inscribed in Russian, signed and dated in print lower right: 12 January 1979, Alipy. Collectible Russian Soviet Artworks For Wall Decor.
