Congratulatory letter for health and livelihood! By Rabbi Yaakov Chaim Perlov of Karlin - the Detroit Rabbi

A long letter, written in Yiddish, in the handwriting and signature of the Rebbe.

Letters from the Rebbe are very rare!

A unique letter in his Holiness's handwriting and with the Rebbe's signature, on the stationery of a vacation home where the Rebbe stayed during the summer months.

In his letter, the Rebbe blesses the blessing of 'a life of health and an extended livelihood' 'and the almighty will pay you and send you your true mate'

'And you will see from your daughter pleasure and happiness'.

The Rebbe Rabbi Ya'akov Chaim Perlov (1881 - 1946), son of the Rebbe Rabbi Israel Perlov of Stolin known as the "Yenuka". One of the greatest righteous men of his generation.

He married Mrs. Hana Chaya. unfortunately they had no children.
In 1923 he was called by the Karlin Chassidim from the USA to come to New York and he immigrated there, where they built a synagogue and an apartment for him in Brooklyn, and he served as rebbe in the Williamsburg neighborhood. He led the Karlin Chassidim in the USA, who prayed in three synagogues in New York York and another synagogue in the city of Detroit.
Part of his life's work was to spread Judaism in the United States and bring back young people who had abandoned the religion. He founded Torah institutions, was known for his dedication to repaying kindnesses, and every Shabbat many Hasidic flocked to the 'tish' he organized.
From time to time he visited his followers who were divided into four communities, and every year he stayed for a few weeks with the community of his followers in Detroit in the state of Michigan.
At the beginning of the month of Iyar 1946, when he came to visit his congregation in Detroit, he brought his belongings with him, and suddenly, before he began the minchah prayer, he returned his soul to his creator. He was buried in Detroit with a large funeral. Because of this, he is known in Hasidism Karlin Stolin as the "Detroit Rabbi".
