A volume of important and rare books, one of them polemical - by Rabbi Mordechai Lowenstam of Bresloy - 1832-1838 - single editions

A. Machberet Shirei ha'Bechina. 35 poems with a moral of education, and in the last poem the 13 main principles of the Maimonides'. With commentary Higyon Libi  By Rabbi Mordechai Lunstam, son of Rabbi Aryeh Lieb, Rabbi of Rotterdam. Bresloy, 1832. Single edition. On the cover, an ancient signature from Germany: "הק' יעקב בן ר' אברהם גאלדשמיט".

B. Misped Mar. On Rabbi Michael Shimon Miya. Bresloy, 1833. By his son-in-law and student, Rabbi Mordechai Lowenstam son of Rabbi Aryeh Lieb, Rabbi of Rotterdam. Hebrew, and at the bottom of each page a little Yiddish. At the end of the book, chidushim in some matters.

C. A memento ... a stone headstone on my wifes grave.. m. Yarel Rachel, daughter of Rabbi Michael Shimon Miya, by the above-mentioned Rabbi Mordechai Lowenstam. Bersloy 1836. Hebrew and opposite Yiddish.

D. Ketav Yosher. A copy of a letter that I wrote... and it includes 11 comments...." by Rabbi Mordechai Levenstam. Bresloy, 1838. A polemical essay in a pictorial language, against the destroyers of religion, with long footnotes, and in them explanations of various matters in the Torah. Few pages with a few tears.

The Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Levenstam, Rabbi of Bresloy, prolific author of important books, son of the Gaon Rabbi Aryeh Lieb Levenstam Av Beit Din of Rotterdam author of "Pe'nei Aryeh", and the son-in-law of the Gaon Rabbi Michael Shimon Meia (brother of Rabbi Yosef Meia) the printer from Bresloy, author of "Chidushei Hagahot" on the Tur, who for the sake of his humility did not want to mention his name on them. These innovations are printed to this day in all editions of the Tur, on the sides of the page. His son-in-law Rabbi Mordechai studied by him for thirty years.

ב. מספד מר. על רבי מיכאל שמעון מייא. ברעסלוי, תקצ"ג 1833. מאת חתנו ותלמידו רבי מרדכי לוונשטאם ב"ר רבי אריה ליב אב"ד רוטרדם. עברית, ובתחתית כל עמוד מעט יידיש. בסוף הספר חידושים בכמה עניינים.

ג. מזכרת ... מצבת אבן על קבר זוגתי.. מ' ירל רחל בת הרב מיכאל שמעון מייא, מאת רבי מרדכי לוונשטאם הנ"ל. בערסלוי תקצ"ו. עברית ומולו יידיש.

ד. כתב יושר. העתק אגרת אשר כתבתי ... ובו נכלל י"א ההערות דרך מליצה..." מאת רבי מרדכי לוונשטאם. ברעסלוי, תקצ"ח. חיבור פולמוסי בשפה ציורית, נגד המהרסים בדת, עם הערות שוליים ארוכות התופסות ברכה בפני עצמן, ובהן ביאורים לעניינים שונים בתורה. דפים ספורים עם מעט קרעים.

הגאון רבי מרדכי לוונשטם זצ"ל, מרבני ברסלוי, מחבר פורה של ספרים חשובים, בנו של הגאון רבי אריה ליב לוונשטאם אב"ד רוטרדם בעל "פני אריה", וחתנו של הגאון רבי מיכאל שמעון מייא (אחיו של רבי יוסף מייא) המדפיס מברסלוי, מחבר "חידושי הגהות" על הטור, אשר לגודל ענוותנותו לא רצה להזכיר שמו עליהם. חידושים אלו מודפסים עד היום בכל מהדורותיו של הספר ארבעה טורים, בצדי העמוד. חתנו רבי מרדכי יצק מים על ידיו במשך שלושים שנה.
