Extremely rare: Hamisha Chomshei Torah, pocket format - Fyorda [Soltzbach], 1788 - handwritten prayers and ownership records

A small volume (pocket edition) of five Torah books. Fyorda, 1788. On the cover is written in relief: "in Soltzbach". Very rare. Only a photograph of the cover was seen in the bibliography factory. It is not in the National Library or the other libraries in Israel. Apparently it has never appeared in sales, certainly not in recent years.

A special edition, in which the Pentateuch is printed without Nikud and Te'amim! As mentioned in the title itself.

On the cover of the book the letters L.S. are stamped . On the inside of the cover is a signature: "הק' ויכעל בן כ"ה ליב סגל".

On the pages of the forzatz at the end of the volume was written in ancient handwriting (probably at the time of printing) the prayers that are said when reading the Torah: "Al hakol yitgadal...." and the blessing of the month in its entirety. It is interesting that it ends with the words: "שימלא משאלות לבנו לטובה בזכות תפילות [!] רב אמן"."

Various studies have been written about the meaning of this ending, which appears in ancient siddurs. The author of Bnei Issachar brought up the interesting possibility that originally it was written: "ברכות תפילת רב", that is: this prayer is found in Tractate Berakhot (16:2) and was compiled by the Amora Arv. And another copyist came to copy from this Siddur and made a mistake in the word ברכות and thought it was referring to merit, and he came up with the phrase "בזכות תפילת רב", and inserted it into the text. And so wrote the Aruch HaShulchan. Here before us is a different version - תפילות רב - which requires a different explanation.

כרך קטן (מהדורת כיס) של חמישה חומשי תורה. פיורדא, תקמ"ח. בשער נכתב בהבלטה: "בזולצבאך". נדיר מאוד. במפעל הביבליוגרפיה ראו רק צילום שער. אינו בספריה הלאומית וביתר הספריות בארץ. ככל הנראה לא הופיע מעולם במכירות, ודאי לא בשנים האחרונות.

מהדורה מיוחדת, בה החומש נדפס ללא ניקוד וטעמים! כפי שנזכר בשער עצמו.

על גבי כריכת הספר מוטבעות האותיות L.S. בפנים הכריכה חתימה: "הק' ויכעל בן כ"ה ליב סגל"

בדפי הפורזץ שבסוף הכרך נכתבו בכתב יד עתיק (כנראה בתקופת ההדפסה) התפילות הנאמרות בעת קריאת התורה: "על הכל יתגדל..." וברכת החודש במלואה. מעניין שהיא מסתיימת במילים: שימלא משאלות לבנו לטובה בזכות תפילות [!] רב אמן".

על פשר סיום זה, המופיע בסידורים עתיקים, נכתבו מחקרים שונים. בעל ה'בני יששכר' העלה את האפשרות המעניינת שבמקור היה כתוב: "ברכות תפילת רב", כלומר: תפילה זו הנמצאת במסכת ברכות (טז , ב) נתחברה על ידי האמורא רב (אבא אריכא) . ובא מעתיק אחר להעתיק מסידור זה וטעה במילת ברכות וחשב שהיא בזכות, ויצא לו הביטוי בזכות תפילת רב, והכניס אותו לתוך הטכסט. וכן כתב בעל 'ערוך השולחן'. כאן לפנינו גירסה שונה - תפילות רב - הדורשת הסבר אחר.
