R. Yosef Sheptashnik - Three rare booklets - Education of religion and knowledge - 1911-1913

*Pamphlet No. 1. Peterkov, Iyar 1911. Includes agreements from great Rabbis (including the Maharsham of Brazan) and Zionist figures (such as Israel Zangwil). The agreements  (some of which are actually nothing more than letters of congratulation for the author's work, or letters of endorsement) take up about half of the booklet, and as is the author's own way, they are also full of praises (exaggerated?) for his Torah greatness. The text of the essay itself is translated into Yiddish at the bottom of each page. At the end of the booklet, the author calls for organizing a meeting of teachers and expert pedagogues, in order to elevate the state of jewish education. On the back of the booklet are interesting illustrations, with an explanation in Yiddish.

* First volume. Berlin, 1913. The booklet includes all of the aforementioned previous booklets, and several more articles were added to it. Total 32 pages. Thick pages, some of the pages are uncut. Includes cover. Tears at the edges of several pages, no lack of text.

* Second volume. Berlin, 1913. pp. 33-48, [1]. Includes articles on education matters, and at the end of the booklet an article 'Al Shever Bat Ami', in which the author calls for the Torah to be taught to girls as well. Good condition.

*חוברת מס' 1. פיטרקוב, אייר תרע"א 1911. כולל הסכמות מגדולי ישראל (ובהם המהרש"ם מברעזאן) ואישים ציוניים (כמו ישראל זנגוויל). ההסכמות (שלמעשה חלקן אינן אלא מכתבי ברכה לפעלו של המחבר, או כתבי סמיכה) תופסות כמחצית מהחוברת, וכדרכו של המחבר עצמו אף הן מלאות וגדושות בתהילות (מוגזמות?) על גדלותו התורנית. הטקסט של החיבור עצמו מתורגם בתחתית כל עמוד ליידיש. בסוף החוברת קורא המחבר לארגן אסיפת מורים ופדגוגים מומחים, כדי לרומם את מצב החינוך בישראל. בגב החוברת איורים מעניינים, עם הסבר ביידיש.

* כרך ראשון. ברלין, תרע"ג. החוברת כוללת את כל החוברת הקודמת הנ"ל, ונוספו בה עוד כמה מאמרים. סה"כ 32 עמ'. דפים עבים, חלק מהגליונות לא חתוכים. כולל מעטפת. קרעים בשולי כמה דפים, ללא חסרון טקסט.

* כרך שני. ברלין, תרע"ג. עמ' 33-48, [1]. כולל מאמרים בענייני חינוך, ובסוף החוברת מאמר 'על שבר בת עמי', בו קורא המחבר ללמד גם את הבנות תורה. מצב טוב.
