The writer Avraham Shalom Friedberg was a Hebrew writer, the author of "Memories of the House of David", the editor of the Hebrew periodicals "Hatzfirah", "Hamelitz", the almanac "Luach Achiasaf" and the Hebrew encyclopedia "HaEshkol".

Friedberg's tombstone in the Jewish cemetery in Warsaw received a lot of publicity due to its unusual design: it is sculpted in the shape of a stack of his books!

Yehoshua Hana Ravnitsky wrote about the writer A. S. Friedberg:

"The love of the language and the nation and love of our holy land and all our virtues filled the heart of this faithful Hebrew from his youth until his last day, and the national author labored all his days to impress these precious feelings in the hearts of his many readers, young and old, and therefore his memory will be a blessing among our people and in our literature for ages".

הסופר אברהם שלום פרידברג היה סופר עברי, מחבר "זכרונות לבית דוד", עורך כתבי העת העבריים "הצפירה", "המליץ", האלמנך "לוח אחיאסף" והאנציקלופדיה העברית "האשכול".

מצבתו של פרידברג בבית הקברות היהודי בוורשה, זכתה לפרסום רב בשל עיצובה הבלתי שגרתי: היא מפוסלת בדמות ערימת ספריו!

על הסופר א"ש פרידברג כתב יהושע חנא רבניצקי:

"אהבת השפה והלאום וחבת ארץ קדשנו וכל סגולותינו מלאו את לב העברי הנאמן הזה מנעוריו עד יומו האחרון, ואת הרגשת היקרים האלה עמל הסופר הלאומי בכל ימי חייו לטעת בלב קוראיו הרבים, הקטנים עם הגדולים, ולכן יהיה זכרו לברכה בקרב עמנו ובספרותנו לאורך ימים".
