Extremely rare: a great book for children, for learning the Hebrew alphabet and the Hebrew language - Warsaw, 1936 - illustrated cover!

We have before us an important and rare book authored by Avraham Prozhansky: 'The Children's Treasure - a textbook for beginning reading, writing and speaking Hebrew'.

The book is so rare that it has never appeared at auctions in Israel!

Includes stories, works, songs and more. Everything is accompanied by beautiful illustrations. At the end of the book are sections of prayer and blessings, kiddush for Shabbat and the three festivals, and the four questions of the Seder night.

At the end of the book a 'Hebrew-Jewish-Polish-English-French dictionary' is printed, which contains useful information - hundreds of names of foods, drinks, jewelry, stationery and much more.

The book is structured in a unique way, different from the rest of the books written on the subject: at the bottom of each page is a 'sample conversation', without nikud, intended for the teacher, which includes tutorials and demonstrations on how to teach the students. Also includes 'tips' for good teaching: "It is forbidden to teach a child any new concept, new speech, or even one new letter, before he knows and remembers the old one well. The teacher who is careful about this, achieves that his students succeed in their studies on the better side."

The author, Avraham Prozhansky, specialized in educational and study books for children. Due to its success, the book in front of us received ten (!) editions, and here is the latest and finest of them.

The condition of the book is relatively reasonable, there is no lack, but the binding of the pages is sometimes loose, and it should be re-bound.

הספר בנוי בצורה ייחודית, השונה מיתר הספרים שחוברו בנושא: בתחתית כל עמוד מופיעה 'שיחה לדוגמא', בלי ניקוד, המיועדת למורה, הכוללת הדרכות והדגמות כיצד ללמד את התלמידים. כולל גם 'טיפים' להוראה טובה: "אסור להורות לילד שום מושג חדש, דיבור חדש, או אפילו אות אחת חדשה, בטרם שידע ויזכור היטב את הישן. המורה הזהרי בזה, זוכה שתלמידיו מצליחים בלימודיהם על הצד היותר טוב".

המחבר, אברהם פרוז'נסקי, התמחה בספרי חינוך ולימוד לילדים. בשל הצלחתו זכה הספר שלפנינו לעשרה (!) מהדורות, ולפנינו האחרונה והמשובחת ביותר שבהם.
