This edition of Midrash Rabba was the first printed with the Zera Avraham and Mishnas Rabbi Eliezer commentaries.

The first leaf features an illustrated title page, which is undoubtedly one of the most exquisite title pages and products of the Amsterdam Jewish press. The title page features spectacular copperplate illustrations of figures and episodes in Tanach among them Moshe and Aharon, Yaakov’s dream, Dovid playing a harp and more.

Description: Contains impressive approbations, among them one signed by Rabbi Naftali Katz, author of Semichas Chachamim. Condition: The margin of the title page has minor restoration, and binding slightly worn with remnants of original clasps. Provenance: Bill Gross Collection.
