Birkat David. Composition on Shulchan Aruch Orach Haim, by Rabbi David son of Rabbi Nathan of Rowadav. Zalkwa, 5526 [1766]. Single edition. Signatures of Rabbi Haim Berlin. [2] 88 leaves, 19 cm. Missing the title page and the next page. Objectives of the composition to settle all of the problems of the poskim (arbitrators) the Ba”ch, the Taz and the Magen Avraham, on the words of the Bet Yosef. Between the leaves of the book the name of Rabbi Haim Berlin is written. The name was written on a number of pages, with the letter of the page number as part of the name, on leaf bet were added the letters “rlin” to the letter ‘b’ so creating the word Berlin. On leaf yud were added the letters “hym” and in the center of the printed letter yud and so created the word Hayim and similarly on some further leaves. New binding. Stains. Blemishes on the edges of single leaves. In good condition.
