Engagement Contract Signed by the Admo"r of Shomrei Emunim, Rabbi Aharon Roth
Tena'im contract upon the engagement of the bridegroom Yitzchak Katz to the bride Hentche Henig. Standing at the bridegroom's side and committing to covering the expenses is the holy Admo"r, Rabbi Aharon Roth of Shomrei Emunim, who has signed on the obligations in the contract. Jerusalem, 1946.
The Admo"r Rabbi Aharon Roth [1895-1947], of Shomrei Emunim, from which sprouted the Chassidic courts: 'Toldot Aharon,' 'Shomrei Emunim,' 'Toldot Avraham Yitzchak' and 'Mevakshei Emunah,' was known by the nickname "Reb Ahreleh." To this day, the people of the Yishuv HaYashan in Jerusalem are known as "Reb Ahrelach." Rabbi Aharon was a disciple of Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech Shapira of Bluzhov, who even authorized him to conduct himself as an Admo"r. He ascended to the Land of Israel for the final time in 1939. He was one of the leading opponents of Zionism. He was sacred and distanced himself from worldly pleasures; he demanded that his followers conduct themselves with extreme modesty and asceticism. He authored many books: Taharat HaKodesh, Shulchan HaTahor, Shomer Emunim, Mevakesh Emunah and more. The most famous and central among them is this book before us, by whose name he is known, as "The Admo"r of Shomer Emunim."
