The leaf preceding the title page contains the handwritten signature of Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Nachum Dov of Sadigura. The Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Nachum Dov of Sadigura - Rabbi Nachum Ber'nyu [1843-1883] - was a son of Rabbi Shalom Yosef, firstborn son of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. Rabbi Nachum Ber'nyu was orphaned as a child. His father, Rabbi Shalom Yosef, who had been appointed successor to Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin, passed away at an early age, just ten months after the passing of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin. Rabbi Nachum Ber'nyu married his cousin, the daughter of Rabbi Avraham Ya'akov, Elder Admo"r of Sadigura. His son-in-law was Rabbi Moshe Yehudah Leib Friedman of Pashkan. His son was the Admo"r Rabbi Shalom Yosef Friedman. The Admo"r Rabbi Nachum Ber'nyu owned an especially large library, and he stamped the books according to their source. The stamp "kinyan kaspi" which appears in the book before us indicates that he bought this book in order to study it.
