Ma'aseh Rokeach. Amsterdam, 1740. First Edition. Segulah Book
Ma'aseh Rokeach by Rabbi Elazar Rokeach, patriarch of the Belz Chassidic dynasty. 1740. First edition.
The Admo"r of Belz shlit"a, descendant of the author, writes in his approbation to the 1993 edition, "It is known to all that this holy book was very beloved to our rabbis, and in 1955, my uncle, the Admo"r, Rabbi Aharon Rokeach of Belz, gave his blessing to print this holy book, and said in his father's name that studying this book is a segulah for joy."
The holy gaon Rabbi Elazar Rokeach [1685-1742] was the Av Beit Din of Amsterdam and a G-dly kabbalist. He is also nicknamed "The Ma'asah Rokeach" after the name of this book. He published it in his twilight days, in 1740, on his way to the Land of Israel. He writes lofty kabbalistic hints and secrets regarding the number of chapters found in the six orders of the mishnah. Admo"rs of the Chassidic movement, led by the Ba'al Shem Tov and his disciples, very much admired him and expressed themselves about him using exalted terms.
