The archive includes a treasure trove of approximately 60 letters full of Torah and science, on topics both varied and fascinating, to and from Rabbi Yehudah Leib Zlotnik. Letters from various rabbis and scholars are among them, including comments and reactions to his articles and compositions. The letters are full of tremendous expertise in all fields of Torah and science.
The correspondents include:
Rishon LeTziyon Rabbi Ben-Tziyon Uziel; Rabbi Reuven Margaliot; Rabbi Yitzchak Maharshen, Av Beit Din of The Hague; scholar Rabbi Shaul Chona Kook; Rabbi Professor Levi Yitzchak Rabinowitz, rabbi of London and then beginning in 1945 rabbi of the United Communities of Johannesburg; Rabbi Shmuel Ashkenazi (Battei Ungarin) 'greatest expert of our generation'; Talmudic scholar Eliezer Aryeh Finkelstein, head of Jewish Theological Seminary in New York; linguist Max Weinreich, great scholar of the Yiddish language; Professor Gershom Sholem; Professor Haim Beinart, great scholar of Spanish Jewry, Professor Moshe Avigdor Scholwass, great scholar of Italian Jewry; and more.
Approximately 60 letters, some handwritten and some typewritten.
Overall fine-very fine condition. Some of the letters have tears and aging stains.
