Kol Aryeh - in-depth Talmudic studies by Rabbi Aryeh Leib Charif, published by his grandson Rabbi Shneur Zalman [Mendlowitz] of Hebron. Jerusalem, [1866]. Magnificent copy. The binding bears a gold embossed dedication from the publisher to philanthropist Chaim David Sassoon.

Two title pages, with an illustration of Jerusalem and the Cave of the Patriarchs.

The book was published by the author's grandson, Rabbi Shneur Zalman Mendlowitz of Hebron, with many prominent approbations. In his lengthy preface, the publisher writes about his fundraising mission for the Kollel Ashkenazim Chabad and his trips to the Orient. He additionally writes about his encounters with the Sassoon family in various countries, and details their help in printing the book, in memory of their father R' David Sassoon, who passed away just prior to the book's printing.
