**Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi (1908–1983):**
Born in Yemen, Rabbi Sharabi became recognized as the greatest Kabbalist of Jerusalem and one of the leading Kabbalists of all time. Renowned as a holy man and miracle worker, countless individuals from all walks of life sought his blessings and salvation. Known for his remarkable deeds, many stories of his wonders are documented in books, such as *Rabbi Sharabi* (Jerusalem, 1989, Chapter 15: “His Miracles”), which dedicates nearly 100 pages to his extraordinary acts.
In 1962, Rabbi Sharabi founded the *Naharat Shalom* Kabbalist Yeshiva in Jerusalem, named after his ancestor, Rabbi Shalom Sharabi (the Rashash), of whom he was a fifth-generation descendant. He led the yeshiva until his passing, earning titles such as the "Elder of the Kabbalists" and "Leader of the Kavanot Community."
Rabbinic leaders from diverse communities, both Ashkenazi and Sephardi, including Rebbes, heads of yeshivot, and Eastern sages, came to learn Kabbalistic secrets from him. These included the Rebbe of Toldot Aharon, Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, and others. Even the Baba Sali sought his insight regarding the origin of his soul, and Rabbi Sharabi answered that it was rooted in King Hezekiah of Judah. Notable Kabbalists of the previous generation, such as Rabbi Meir Yehuda Getz (Rabbi of the Western Wall), Rabbi Shalom Shmueli, and Rabbi Ovadia Hadaya, considered themselves his disciples. Rabbi Ovadia Yosef referred to Rabbi Sharabi as "the greatest of the generation, unmatched in Kabbalah."
**Testimonies from Contemporary Torah Leaders:**
- The Baba Sali remarked after Rabbi Sharabi’s visit: “Why trouble such a great and righteous man, the Elder of the Kabbalists, to come to me? I wanted to go to him!”
- Rabbi Ovadia Yosef wrote: "The esteemed, saintly, divine Kabbalist, pious and righteous, pure in action... Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi... I had the privilege to know him closely and hear much about him from my father-in-law, Rabbi Avraham Fattal Halevi, who studied Kabbalah with him. Nothing was hidden from him, and no secret escaped his grasp."
- Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu described him as “Great and holy, pious and righteous, a master Kabbalist who raised many disciples... His blessings brought abundant influence, and his prayers were never in vain. He was our teacher and master, a saintly, divine Kabbalist."
