The society was in difficult financial straits and did not have even the minimal means necessary to operate on behalf of their lofty cause – Shabbos observance in Eretz Yisrael. Signed: Rabbi Elkana Weisenstern, a leader of the society and one of the outstanding personalities of Jerusalem.
