Title page ‘Shvut Yehuda’ on the Mechilta by Rabbi Yehuda Najar. Livorno, 1801. Author’s signature along with the signature of Rabbi Yitzchak Taieb, author of the ‘Aruch Ha’Shulchan’. Rabbi Yitzchak Taieb, was a prominent Tunisian Rabbi (1750?-1830). He authored the ‘Aruch Ha’Shulchan’, ‘Chukat Pesach’ and more. His signature is very rare. Rabbi Yehuda Najar, one of Tunisia’s biggest rabbis, served as a rabbinical judge (passed away in 1830). He wrote: ‘Ohalei Yehuda’, ‘Alfei Yehuda’, ‘Simchat Yehuda’ and more. The paper in is poor condition.
