Pair of Wood Bookends. United States, c. 1950
Pair of matching wood bookends with the Decalogue. United States, c. 1950. 14×19 cm. Each bookend is 7 cm. wide. The bookends are made to look like the front of a magnificent holy ark. The Decalogue is featured at center and is engraved with the Hebrew title קדש לה’. With a magnificent gate and classic pilaster columns. Painted in gold. Nice work. One bookend is slightly blemished at its corners and its paint is rubbed. The second is in excellent condition.
