Talmud Bavli - Munich Manuscript, Leiden, 1912. Complete Set.

Facsimile of the Babylonian Talmud from a 1343 manuscript, parchment manuscript found in Munich. Leiden, 1912. Complete set, with an introductory booklet by Hermann Struck.

48x37 cm. Five volumes, elegantly printed on especially thick paper, with the introductory booklet.

577 double copies of the manuscript, each facsimile is attached on both sides of the leaf. The Munich manuscript is the oldest manuscript of the complete Babylonian Talmud. This special manuscript was known to previous generations, and many yearned to see it. The Chid"a wrote that he merited to see the manuscript, but due to constraints he was unable to enjoy much of it. However, he copied some texts from it.

Special facsimile edition by Hermann Struck. Especially impressive.

Due to its size and weight, it had been rebound in semi-leather bindings, in five volumes. Very fine condition.
