"Diligent, Meticulous with Mitzvahs, Pious, G-d-Fearing and Studious" - Blessings all Parents Would Wish for

May his parents enjoy much true Jewish nachat from him; diligence, studiousness, meticulousness with mitzvahs, to be pious, G-d-fearing and scholarly (some of the blessings in the Rebbe's letter)

Letter loaded with blessings for a bar-mitzvah boy, blessings all parents would wish upon themselves for their children, signed by the Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch. 9 Shevat, 1971.

In his letter to Rabbi Ya'akov Fink, av beit din of Haifah, the Rebbe blesses the bar-mitzvah boy "the avreich" Yosef Chaim, as was his custom, with an abundance of blessings: "May it be His will that from the age of 13-to-mitzvah-observance, you grow to 15 etc, as determined in the mishnah ... and add diligence and dedication to Torah study, the revealed Torah and Chassidic doctrine, and meticulousness with mitzvahs. May Hashem grant you success in becoming a G-d-fearing Chassid and scholar. May your parents have much true Jewish nachat from you."

Noteworthy here in the margins of the letter, is the Rebbe's addition, in his own penmanship, of the word "b'kavod" - this has huge segulah value when written with the pen held by such a G-dly person. Honor motivates a person from when he first enters the world and continues to do so until he leaves it. It occupies him for many hours of the day - what people will say about him, how he looks, etc., etc. [honor is not negative - that is, it is not illusory honor the Rebbe is referring to, but true Jewish pride].

The Rebbe adds his immortal promise after his signature: "... this letter will be read at an auspicious time at my father-in-law's, the Admo"r's, grave site."

The Admo"r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson [1902-1994], seventh in the dynasty of the Admo"rs of Lubavitch, began serving as Admo"r in 1951 and continued until his passing. He was a tremendous gaon in all aspects of the Torah. His net was - and still is - cast across the entire world.

Even during his lifetime, the Rebbe was known as a supernatural salvation-worker, and he enacted miracles like the ancients, which was very common among true rabbinic leaders over the generations across various factions. What was unusual about the Lubavitcher Rebbe was that even after his passing - maintain Chaba"d Chassidim - his printed letters continue - and all the more so his manuscripts - to enact miracles, no less, and possibly even more - than during his lifetime, as stated by our Sages (Chulin 7b): "Tzaddikim are even greater after their passing than during their lifetimes"!
