Joint Letter from Rabbi Aharon Leib Shteinman and Rabbi Nissim Karelitz Regarding Draft Deferral
Letter in the handwriting of Rabbi Aharon Leib Shteinman and Rabbi Nissim Karelitz on the topic of yeshiva exemption from draft obligation - 19 Adar A 1995.
The first part of the letter is handwritten and signed by Rabbi Nissim Karelitz, wherein he recommends recognizing Yeshivat Torat Chessed in Beit Shemesh as a prominent yeshiva which is fitting to be recognized for the purposes of draft deferral. In the margins, Rabbi Aharon Leib Shteinman adds "I too join. Rabbi Jungreis should sign that the yeshiva students should receive a deferral from the army" in his handwriting with his signature.
