What you are Learning, and Considering Learning ..." Regards to Rabbi Aharon Leib, Asking What he is Thinking of Doing - Wander the World a Bit and we will See ..."

Unique family letter from Rabbi Yisrael Gershon Soloveitchik of Brisk and his wife and family, to his son, the gaon Rabbi Moshe in Switzerland, with regards to the rosh yeshivah Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman ztz"l. Brisk, 1938.

Unique and historic letter sent to the gaon Rabbi Yisrael Gershon Soloveitchik of Brisk - [eldest son of Rabbi Chaim of Brisk] to his own eldest son, the gaon Rabbi Moshe Soloveitchik, after the latter left Lithuania due to the draft decree hovering over his head. Together with his friend Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman ztz"l, they managed to flee just in time to reach the safe shores of Switzerland, where they became the foundation stone of our generation in the Land of Israel and in European countries, two gedolei hador of our times.

The letter sent by the father, Rabbi Yisrael Gershon, with greetings to his son Rabbi Moshe, was also written by his wife, the Rebbetzin [in Yiddish], along with two friends from yeshivah, Rabbi Betzalel Ponivelie and Elyakim Ya'akov Schezerowski.

In addition to the regards and interest in his study schedule, "What are you learning and considering learning?" the letter also hints at his evading the Polish draft and his success in getting out of it.

They also ask about Rabbi Aharon Leib Steinman, "Regards to Aharon Leib. What is he thinking of doing? Wander the world a bit and we will see ... And how is your dear friend, Aharon Leib ..." - the mother of the Soloveitchik family also sends regards to Rabbi Aharon Leib.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the gaon Rabbi Yisrael Gershon Soloveitchik, may his blood be avenged.
