"Eretz HaZvi" calendar. Inscribed by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook to Dr. Wallach
Eretz HaZvi calendar for 1905, at the press of Hry"n Loewe and partners. The jacket bears a handwritten inscription by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook: "In honor of the generous lover of Torah and admirer of the rabbis - Dr. Wallach hy"v." With Rabbi Kook's stamp from the era that he served as rabbi in Jaffa.
The calendar was issued on behalf of the "Shaarei Torah" institution in Jaffa. The introductory pages include an approbation from Rabbi Kook and some words by Dr Wallach about the institution. It also includes a picture of the Talmud Torah Shaarei Torah and the Beit Medrash HaGadol in Jaffa and pictures of the students of the Talmud Torah. At the end of the calendar, there is a letter from Rabbi Shmuel Salant and the Aderet appealing to donors to support the institution.
