Letter to the Yemenite immigrants from "those loyal to the Torah in Eretz Yisrael"
Letter to the Yemenite immigrants published by the Histadrut Tzeirei Agudat Yisrael, HaNoar Ha'Agudati B'Eretz Yisrael. 1940-50s.
Printed letter in which the Tzeirei Agudat Yisrael addresses the Yemenite immigrants and warns them of the spiritual dangers waiting in ambush in Eretz Yisrael. "Our brothers, the Yemenite immigrants, you are making a mistake, and it is very dangerous. In your naivete, you think that in Eretz Yisrael the entire nation is holy, all are righteous, but know - please know - that many of them are Jews who pull and draw away from Torah, with the plots of Satan and the evil inclination they plan on pulling you away from our G-d in Heaven..."
In their appeal, the Agudaists mention the exterior changes that Yemenite Jewry already underwent: "See and notice that the act of Satan already succeeded and hundreds of you already moved from the path of Torah, they cut the "simanim" [pe'ot-sideburns] that differentiate between Yisrael and the nations, they walk with uncovered heads and removed the tzitzit from their clothes..." Save your souls and the souls of your children, settle only in settlements and kibbutzim with G-d fearing Jews....unite together with your sages as your leaders..."
