Sefer HaYashar, Attributed to Rabbeinu Tam. Jerusalem, 1864. One of the First Books Printed in Jerusalem
Sefer HaYashar - mussar from Rabbeinu Ya'akov Ba'al HaTosafot - Rabbeinu Tam. Jerusalem, printed at the press run by Yechiel Brill, Michel HaKohen and Yoel Moshe Bahara"m. 1864. One of the first sefarim printed at this press in Jerusalem.
A picture of the Temple Mount appears at the beginning and the end of the sefer and two pictures of the press in Jerusalem with the inscription "Mizbeach Dfus Chadash B'Tziyon Huchan."
Sefer HaYashar is attributed to Rabbeinu Tam (as appears on the title page), but there are those who question this. The Chid"a discusses the author's identity, and brings up two possibilities: According to the claim of Rabbi Nachman di Lunzano, the author is Zerachiah HaYevani, and another possibility is brought in the name of Seder HaDorot, that it is the R"i of Orleans (also one of the Ba'alei HaTosafot).
Shoshanah HaLevi, Sifrei Yerushalayim HaRishonim 97.
48 leaf. 17 cm.
Fine condition. Blemish in the margins of the title page, without damage to the text. Sticker for reinforcement in the margins of several of the first and last leaves.
