Sacred Letter from the Admo"r Rabbi Yisrael of Grodzisk to the Rabbi of the Old City of Jerusalem. 1933

Sacred letter from the Admo"r Rabbi Yisrael Shapira of Grodzisk, may his blood be avenged, to the rabbi of Jerusalem's Old City and ra'ava"d of the Bada"tz Chassidim, the gaon Rabbi Yisrael Ze'ev Mintzberg and his deputy, activist Rabbi David Weingarten, founder of the orphanage Beit HaYetomot HaKlali in Jerusalem. Jerusalem, 1933.

The Admo"r was one of those who assisted the poor of the Land of Israel within the framework of Kupat Rabi Meir Ba'al HaNes via Kollel Warsaw-Poland. He expresses his gratitude in the letter for sending the EretzYisraeli etrog (and other items) in appreciation for his efforts on behalf of the kollel [Kollel Warsaw-Polin] for the poor of the Land of Israel. He hopes "May it be His will that our activities be effective .. and that Hashem helps us bring honor to His glorious Name among the Jewish people."

He sends regards at the end of the letter to his dear son who resides in Jerusalem - Rabbi Avraham Elimelech Shapira of Grodzisk, "Tell my dear son 'Shalom u'vrachah.'" On the second side of the leaf are also regards to the Chassid, scion of the sacred, Rabbi Yehoshua Asher Rabinowitz of Jerusalem, and others.
