Letter to Strengthen Pure Education for the Children of Survivors, with an Abundance of Blessings Handwritten by the Sacred Admo"r of Skulen
Lengthy letter handwritten by the honorable Admo"r Rabbi Eliezer Zusha Portugal of Skulen. Scribal script with a very lengthy addition [approximately 20 lines!] handwritten and signed by the Admo"r. [Brooklyn, 1960s.]
In the letter, the Admo"r requests from the addressee that he make efforts to encourage the members of his community to donate to an educational institution established by the Admo"r for the children of the refugees, "so that with their ascension to the Holy Land, they will not lower their children, Heaven forbid, into the pit." The Admo"r writes that "the issue is very urgent to save our Jewish brethren and their children from the network of "free" education."
At the letter's conclusion, the Admo"r blesses many important blessings: "My heart teems with blessings for his honor, shlit"a, from the depths of my heart - My Hashem grant [you] a long life of peace; may [you] be written in the book of tzaddikim immediately for a good, pleasant and sweet life, together with [your] wife, the Rebbetzin. May [you] experience joy and sacred pleasure from all [your] children and your children's children. And for [your] daughter who needs a recovery, may Hashem's promise be fulfilled for her: "I, Hashem, am the healer" and may all illness and anguish be removed from her ..." He then signs, "With eternal Torah blessings and the true redemption, with tremendous love, [your] close friend, Eliezer Zusha son of R' Yisrael Avraham ztz"l."
