First edition of the important book of responsa of one the rabbinic leaders of the generations.
The author was one of the rabbinic leaders of the generation between the end of the period of the Rishonim and the beginning of the period of the Achronim. He was the leading rabbi of Jerusalem in his time.
This book bears responsa that have become inalienable assets in several areas: Leaves 248-276 Peirot Shevi'it, calculation of the Shemittah year; commentary on the laws of Hilchot HaChodesh L'HaRamba"m and the calculations of the tekufot and moladot, with tables and geometric diagrams. Kuntress HaSemichah appears on leaves 277-328 - "A dispute between the sages of Safed [led by R' Ya'akov Beirav] and the sages of Jerusalem [led by the author] regarding semichah."
